A customer recently installed ceiling insulation into their rental property and asked us to inspect it and provide a compliance certificate as required under the legislation.

On inspection, it was quickly identified that the installer did not have the right product or required knowledge to meet either the rental legislation requirements or to meet the NZ Standard.

As you can see in the photos, there are many gaps in the new yellow insulation, which has been laid over the top of the existing pink insulation. The new insulation is also not the right R-value and a label has not been left to identify it. 

We recommend using a professional installer to ensure you get it right the first time. In trying to save money, this customer is going to end up having to spend even more.
